Weekend of Firsts

From potty training to parades, our holiday weekend was filled with firsts for our family.

On Saturday, we packed Mia and Ava with liquids and made them sit on their potties hoping they would finally get the hang of this whole process.  We had our first success by bribing them with cake, but just minutes later both girls ended up peeing all over the floor.  Once again, we've decided they aren't ready and we'll try again later.
One day we won't buy diapers anymore, but that day is not today
On Sunday, we took them to the Blossom Time Festival where they rode rides by themselves for the first time.  I have such fond memories of my dad taking us to this festival when we were little.  One year he let us play the same game over and over and over again so we could win live hermit crabs (they died as soon as we got home).  Luckily for us, the girls haven't started asking to play games.
Growing up!!!
Since entering parenthood, Mate has made new friends at work and I have made new mommy friends, but it's not as easy to meet friends as a couple.  Not to mention, most people our age have one kid, not three.  We're kind of a lot to handle!  Thankfully, we've gotten to know one couple pretty well since joining the Little Gym.  Their daughter is the same age as our older girls and they live just around the corner from us.  On our way home from class every week, Mate and I talk about how much we like them.  It took a while, but we finally got to hang out for the first time this weekend.  Yay for new friends!!!

We ended our holiday weekend by taking Eliana to her first parade.  Since Mate didn't have Monday off, I was on my own with the three girls.  I wasn't sure how well we'd manage, but I was pleasantly surprised.
Trying to get the older girls to look at the camera while we waited for the parade to start.

    1. Thank you so much for the kind words! I'm glad you enjoy what I share. One kid or ten, I think we all feel relieved when someone else is going through the same thing.
