Happy Mother's Day, Mom

With Mother's Day upon us, I thought it would be appropriate to take a little time to talk about my mom.  She's almost always the first person I call when I have something to share or need advice.  I'm thankful that our mother-daughter relationship has turned into a friendship.  I am also thankful for all the memories that guide me on my own motherhood journey.  Here are just a few:

Thank you for letting us take a day off of school to have time alone with you.
Thank you for making us weed the garden, clean the refrigerator and organize closets.
Thank you for teaching us to say please, thank-you and I'm sorry.
Thank you for being a good friend to others and showing us what loyalty means.
Thank you for decorating the house for every birthday and throwing us great parties.
Thank you for being at every performance, field trip, big event.
Thank you for cooking dinner and letting us help.
Thank you for driving me to and from dance class a million times a week.
Thank you for being a successful business owner and modeling a strong work ethic.
Thank you for saying no even when it felt like a great injustice.

I always look back fondly on my childhood, but when you're growing up there's so much you don't recognize. Now, as a parent, I am grateful for all the intentional lessons and the hidden ones built-in along the way. Thanks, Mom!
