Wreck the Halls

Mia helping make cinnamon rolls
Two years ago, Mate and I decided the first Saturday of December would always be the day we decorate for the holidays.  We were excited to have the girls join in on the fun this year.  As tradition mandates, we started our day with cinnamon rolls and Christmas music.  Then, Mate brought all the decorations up from the basement and we got to work.  Unlike last year, Mia and Ava were ready to help (I use the word help loosely).  As soon as something would go up, something would come down.  I quickly realized that some decorations from last year weren't going to make it out of the boxes this year.  Luckily, Mate got the tree assembled without the girls interfering.  Our luck didn't last and any ornament within reach came down.  It looks like we'll be having an undecorated tree this year. Having two toddlers to share this little tradition with may be messy, but it's also more fun!

We spent the afternoon doing a little shopping before ending our day with a half an hour of the Polar Express.  I wasn't expecting the girls to be too interested, but they stayed snuggled on the couch with us the whole time.
