2nd Birthday

A year from now, we'll barely remember what you were like at 2, so here is my best attempt to document some of what you're up to:

Mia (since you're 1 minute older you are first):
1. When you wake up in the morning, you stand up on your bed and say, "all done".  Thank you for announcing in such a cute way that you're done sleeping and ready for the day.
2. You can count to ten, say some of your ABC's, identify most letters, talk up a storm, finish most of the sentences in your favorite books and make just about any animal noise we ask.
3.  When you are done eating lunch or dinner, you politely ask for a treat.  Currently, your favorite thing is a couple of mini marshmallows.  It's hard to say no when you say, "treat, please".
4. You love to hug and kiss your sister, dance, and watch Special Agent Oso.
5. You are queen of the tantrums in this house.  Almost once a day, you throw yourself on the ground in protest.  We pretend to ignore you, but it's somewhat entertaining.

Ava:
1. You say "oh, no" "oh, my" and "oh, wow" all day long.  Your favorite words are elephant, door and balloon.
2. You can count to ten, say some of your ABC's, identify most letters, recite parts of nursery rhymes and make lots of animal sounds.  You're great at roaring like a lion.
3. Your favorite show is still Mickey Mouse Clubhouse.  You love hanging on the furniture, looking at books and being tickled.
4. You rarely get the chance, but you love drinking apple juice out of a juice box.
5. You are a little difficult when it comes to sleeping.  You've adjusted to a new room and new bed at night, but you still wake up in the middle of your nap and end up sleeping on the couch.

You both amaze and challenge us on a daily basis.  Thank you for all the hugs, kisses and laughter over the past two years.  Happy Birthday!!!

Here is how we spent your day:
We started with sprinkle pancakes (Mia)
After breakfast, you discovered all the balloons and some gifts. (Ava)
Our plans changed due to a huge snow storm, but I don't think you minded.  We spent about an hour climbing, sliding and snacking at a local restaurant with an indoor playground.
We saved your big present for the evening.  You love your new house!
Next, we had birthday cake.  Yum!
Our day ended with one final gift and some snuggling.
