Baby News and Nursery

We have made it to the home stretch!  Last night, we had a follow-up ultrasound to check on the fluid levels in baby's kidneys.  One of the kidney's is normal and the other is still elevated.  Again, the doctor didn't seem all that concerned and said we'll take another look between 34 and 36 weeks.  If there is still extra fluid, they'll schedule testing for after the baby is born.  The doctor also spent a good amount of time looking at the heart to make sure nothing was missed last time.  We're happy to report baby's heart is still just fine.  Of course, we couldn't have a completely surprise-free ultrasound.  This little guy or gal is already 3 pounds 3 ounces.  While that's within the normal range, our girls were so small that it seems strange to have a baby in the 75th percentile.  Since a baby's weight is expected to triple before birth, we won't be shocked if I deliver early.

We know better than anyone to expect the unexpected, so we're definitely preparing for this baby's arrival ahead of time.  As soon as the girls were in their new room, we began rearranging the nursery.  Mate disassembled one of the cribs and I packed up one set of bedding.  I thought that part might be a bit sad, but it wasn't.  Now that there is more space in the room, we were able to do a bit of rearranging.  Even though all the decor is the same, the new configuration makes it seem updated.  Don't tell the girls, but I like the room better now than before.

Ready for Baby #3:
Before, everything was a little cramped:
