Upcycle: Baby Jeans

My girls have acquired 6 pairs of the same size Target jeans due to a sale at Marc's.  Who can pass up $8.00 jeans for $0.99?  Apparently, not me, or my mom, or my grandma.  I couldn't bring myself to return 99 cent pants, so here is what I came up with:

Original Jeans
I cut off the legs and then used an iron-on product to create the hem
I cut four fabric patches and used this glue to keep them from fraying
I used the same fabric to create a belt
I added the belt and patches
Finally, I hand-stitched each patch
Finished Skirt

The whole project cost about $2.00.  If your kids have jeans that still fit in the waist but not the legs, this could be a great way to get some more use out of them.  I'll probably pair this skirt with a cardigan, leggings and boots for a cute Thanksgiving outfit.  One skirt down. . . one to go!
