Playdate

The table all ready for the big kids

Today, we hosted our first official playdate.  I have two wonderful friends who have been a part of my life for over 20 years.  Dawn, Joan and I grew up dancing together and have shared so many memories. 
All of a sudden, the tutus and ballet shoes in our lives belong to our children instead of us. While there are days I would give anything to be standing backstage again with these ladies, sitting amongst all of our children is pretty amazing.

Being in the company of other moms is so refreshing.  The three of us were able to carry on conversations while feeding children, cleaning up messes, soothing criers, and admiring crayola masterpieces.  I love comparing experiences, asking questions, and learning from each other.  I'm pretty sure playdates are more beneficial for the parents than the children.  I can't wait for another one!
