We had a wonderful time celebrating Halloween for the first time with Mia and Ava. It isn't my favorite holiday, but it was easy to get into the spirit this year. For the last month, I looked for costumes in stores and online. While I was tempted by so many of the adorable options, I couldn't bring myself to spend a lot of money. Luckily, we were in Marc's one day buying some decorations and there were a bunch of costumes for $5.99. For those of you who don't know about Marc's, it's a blessing and a curse all at the same time. The pink cat was a Carter's costume and the teddy bear was from Lillian Vernon, both originally $24.99. We weren't about to pass up that deal, so Mate helped me try them on the girls right in the middle of the aisle. Success!
We gave Mia the pink cat because she can be a bit sassy (in a good way). Ava likes to be held a lot, so we thought the teddy bear fit her personality.
Mate took them around the cul-de-sac, while I stayed at the house to pass out candy.

After visiting with the neighbors, Mate brought the girls back to the house.

We let the girls try their first piece of candy. Yummy, messy chocolate!
