Take Your Family to Work Day

Yesterday, the girls and I were able to have lunch with Mate at the hospital.  Some of his co-workers still hadn't met Mia and Ava, so we were invited to their potluck.  It was nice to have somewhere to go during the day.  We had a great time seeing Mate's office and the pharmacy.  I immediately went into interior decorator mode and suggested he spruce up his space a bit, but he seemed happy having just a few family pictures.  They also had a bulletin board that could really use the elementary teacher touch, but I just kept my opinion about that to myself.  The girls were perfectly content as they got passed around and I enjoyed chatting with other adults.  We would have loved to stay longer, but Mate had to head to a meeting at the college and we had a birthday party to get to.

My sister and grandpa have birthdays within a few days of each other, so we all met up to celebrate.  Mia and Ava got lots of attention and showed off their newly acquired skills: sitting up and eating solids.  I have noticed that as the girls get older, the amount of stuff I drag along increases.  I felt like a bag lady, but at least we had everything we needed.  It was an eventful, enjoyable Thursday.  Now it's back to our regular daily routine.
