I Need a Weekend From My Weekend

The weekend started with our date night and just kept going.  Mate left early Saturday morning for a day of sailing, tailgating and football with the boys.  My sister and niece had slept over the night before, so it was a girls' day at my house.  We braided each others hair, watched movies and went shopping.

Mate got home late on Saturday, so we let him sleep in while we got ready for another busy day.  Each August my grandma's side of the family has a reunion.  It is a day full of Italian food, catching up and bocce ball.  We had a great time visiting with everyone, especially my cousin and her twin boys.
So, we're not all looking at the same camera, but it was a good first attempt.

We almost all made it into the picture.

After my family's reunion, we went to visit with a side of Mate's family we don't get to see very often.  We love catching up and seeing how much the kids have grown.

Christian was great with the girls...too bad he lives in Texas.

Ava and Mia were perfectly content all day.  Mate and I were exhausted by the time we got home, but we didn't let that stop us from introducing sippy cups.
Apparently, Mia didn't want anything to do with that cup
Ava liked it right away

Our life is busy and they are growing up quickly, but I refuse to worry about how fast it's going.  Instead, I make sure to enjoy every milestone and appreciate that I get to be there for each one.
