Teacher Appreciation

As Teacher Appreciation Week comes to a close, I thought it was a good time to openly thank Mrs. V and Mrs. J. at Faith Preschool for being everything we could have hoped for our girls and more.

1. Thank you for being child-centered.  I love when you are more interested in what my children are trying to tell you than chatting with me.
2. Thank you for being technology-free.  I love that my children are covered in paint and filled with knowledge that didn't come from a screen.
3. Thank you for having an open-door policy for parents.  I know when we get to public school, security measures won't allow for parents to pop-in whenever they'd like.
4. Thank you for encouraging healthy snacks, but allowing the kiddos to celebrate birthdays and special occasions with treats.
5. Thank you for staying true to ALL the research that says children at this age learn best through play.  I love that you find countless teachable moments while playing on the floor.

Thank you for being Mia and Ava's first teachers. You have set the bar impossibly high.
Like the time the kiddos kept singing Jingle Bells at the holiday program and you let it happen- over and over and over again.  You are a master at the delicate balance of leading and following.

Or when you turned the multi-purpose room into a circus tent and bravely served as ring master.  I was in awe of your patience that day and your ability to give each child a moment in the spotlight.

And just this week, you created "breakfast in bed" in honor of Mother's Day.  While our picture may not have turned out so well (story of my life), I will always look back and be grateful for the memories you make for our family.
I LOVED my first preschool Mother's Day and truly appreciate the teachers who made it possible.
