The original plans for our home had two full bathrooms upstairs. One was Jack and Jill style, while the other was connected to its own bedroom. This proved problematic for many reasons. First and foremost, we are not raising princesses. The idea that one of them would get their own bathroom really seemed excessive. Second, we knew Mia and Ava would want to be together in the Jack and Jill, which would reinforce the twins vs little sister thing we're trying to avoid. Third, Eliana HATES to share- hates it with a passion that displays itself through aggression. There is NO WAY that kid is getting her own bathroom (she will learn to share, gosh darnit). Finally, I loved the challenge of creating one bathroom for three girls. Little did I know the biggest challenge would be convincing Mate that this could be done. Thankfully, he trusted me and this is the result:
I have to give a shout-out to our builder for collaborating with me on the design and creating the layout.
I can only hope that this little space will foster sisterly love and not epic fights over accessories.
And since it's been asked by almost everyone who has seen it . . . yes, this does confirm that there are no plans to grow our family.
