Mother's Day 2015

Of the five Mother's Days I've had the privilege of celebrating as a parent, yesterday was by far my favorite.  Mate deserves a whole bunch of credit for all the effort and forethought.  In the wee hours of the morning, he hijacked my blog and then made sure to wake before me so I could enjoy this:
The day could have been complete right here.

Next, I chose one room in the house to finish organizing/decorating and he got right to work.
 Playroom pictures to come . . .
After a productive morning, we headed to Ohio City for lunch and a little exploring.
Then, it was time for the International Children's Festival.  We had a few minutes to make some puppets before our journey through Paper Planet:
Here's a blurb straight from the website: Children‘s imaginations go wild in a world made of paper. Entering the space, families make creatures, vines and flowers, costumes and impossible constructions, adding to the world around them. This is an on-going, durational installation, where audiences build whole communities. Theatre and play merge, as children discover an imaginative world for adventures in this forest of their own making.
We had a great time creating and interacting with the actors.
Before heading home, we enjoyed a magic show, face painting, and balloon animals.
The rest of my day included a nap, dinner made by Mate and the BEST gift!
During our move, we realized our vacuum was missing.  We're not exactly in agreement about how it disappeared, but it was replaced by a much better version.

Well done, Mate, well done.

  1. I'm guessing your vacuum went to the same place as a metal shelving unit we couldn't find after one of our moves. :)
