The End of October

This was the first year that the girls had a real interest in all things Halloween.  It's not my favorite holiday, but I think we managed.

Since the weather forecast for actual trick-or-treating didn't look favorable, my mom and I took the girls to an indoor event at the mall a few days early.  A little candy, a ride or two and some ice cream . . . what more could they want?

The next day, they had their first party at preschool.  I was really impressed with all the activities the room mother had planned and was happy Eliana and I were able to help out.

 Eliana got to participate, too

We started Halloween morning with pumpkin and bat shaped pancakes and ghost bananas.  They showed their appreciation by asking me every few minutes for the rest of the day, "Is it time to trick or treat?" Every. Few. Minutes. All. Day. Long.

When it was finally time, they braved the rain and cold for about 40 minutes.  I think they were pleased with the results.
Halloween is a little more appealing now that there are kids to enjoy it with, but I'm not one bit disappointed it's over.

With October behind us, we're ready to cheer on this guy as he begins chemo treatments.

When the raindrops come tumbling, remember you're the one who can fill the world with sunshine
