Consistent

If someone asked me to describe myself in three words, I would, without a doubt, use consistent as one of my descriptors.  I'm not sure that consistent is all that flattering, but there's no denying it.  For example, I am consistent in my plan making.  I always have a plan.  I am consistent in my negative reaction to "naughty" scenes on t.v.  I always turn to Mate and say the same thing, "I just don't think that is necessary". . . every. single. time.  I am consistent in my inability to ever have more than one alcoholic beverage at a time.  One and done, thank you very much.  I am consistent in my fear of getting into trouble.  Rule breaking is just not my thing.  I am consistently confident that I will never be tagged as the life of the party . . . ever.  However, I am consistent in other ways, too.  I am consistent in my desire to spend my time doing things that are meaningful to me:

At the beginning of the month, Mate and I spent an evening with friends.  I wasn't all that excited about a hockey game, but it ended up being tons of fun.  Not to mention, watching these two participate in a contest:

A few days later, I gathered with the Mothers of Twins Club to fill gift bags for parents of children in the NICU.  Many of us have first hand experience and wanted to provide families with a few things that would make NICU life just a little bit easier.

The following day, I drove to Mansfield to gather with mothers of twins from all over the state.  I am so very thankful to spend time with such supportive, inspirational ladies.

On my way home from Mansfield, I stopped in Strongsville to shop for bridesmaid dresses with this beautiful bride-to-be:

I had one full day to rest before spending the evening volunteering at the March of Dimes Signature Chef Auction downtown. In between tasks, we were given a chance to taste delicious food from some of Cleveland's best restaurants.  I can't wait to participate again next year.

A fellow mother of twins and me enjoying the event.  She actually has 2 sets of twins . . . talk about a super mom!!!

The next day, the girls and I hosted an Early Childhood PTA field trip at The Little Gym. I love watching other children and parents experience a place we are such big fans of.

That same evening, Mate and I had a date to see Newsies at Playhouse Square.  I bought tickets ONE hour after they went on sale and the best I could do was the last row of the balcony on a Tuesday night.  We figured for only $10 a ticket, it was worth a try.  Our first stop was dinner at the new Hofbrahaus, which was quite lively and a place I'm sure we'll return to.  As for Newsies, I was underwhelmed (we're not sure if it was the show itself or being so far from the stage), but we enjoyed ourselves, nonetheless.

For the record, he didn't specify size when ordering his beverage, so they brought him that monstrosity.

There were a couple more things on the calendar for last week, but the lovely snow storm kept us at home.  I must say, we didn't mind one bit.  There are few things more meaningful than enjoying moments with my family.

We attended our fifth and final wedding of the year on Saturday.  It was another wonderful event, topped off by my nearly 81-year-old grandma being surrounded by young men on the dance floor . . . priceless.

Finally, Mia and Ava accompanied me to deliver 30 gift bags to Rainbow Babies and Children's Hospital.  We were so happy to see one of our favorite staff members before we left.  We love that place and all it has done for our girls.

I am consistent at being able to fill our calendar, that's for sure.
