Since Mate and I spent the majority of our 6th anniversary in different states, I don't have anything too exciting to share about the day. We had just enough time to enjoy a quick breakfast with the girls before heading to the airport. Each time Mate heads to a conference, there is a moment of feeling left behind, but then I'm always quick to remember that he isn't leaving us behind; he's moving us forward. I feel such pride in all that Mate has accomplished thus far in his career, so I'm willing to give up our day so he can keep up the great work.
In honor of our anniversary, here are six notable details from this past year of marriage:
1. Our family vacation last month
2. Deciding to build a home
3. Making more time for just the two of us
4. Working together to make decisions for our girls
5. Watching tv together on Friday nights (Downton Abbey, House of Cards, Homeland...so many good shows)
6. Coming to the same conclusion that we are meant to be a family of five
