House Update

It's been awhile.  It's been awhile because I have been completely preoccupied.  After the land inspection on our lot, we learned that some costly improvements were going to be required prior to building.  This wouldn't be a problem except the owners assured us that they had already completed some of that work.  To say we're paying a premium for the lot is an understatement, so there is no way those people are getting more money out of us.  As a result, we spent the last few weeks in a holding pattern while our builder finalized plans and prepared estimates.  TORTURE (in a completely first-world-problem kind of way).  Y'all know I'm a make-it-happen person, not a wait-for-everyone-else person and I couldn't do a darn thing for weeks.  Also, did I mention we have to move out of our house in a month?  Homelessness wasn't on my list of things to try in 2014.  Okay, that was dramatic considering we know exactly where we're going to live for the next 6 months, but what's going to happen after that?  There's not a definite answer to that question.  We're currently waiting to hear back from the owners of the lot. If they are reasonable, we can move forward with the build.  If we have to walk away, there are very few options to consider.  Hopefully, the next few days bring many answers.

In the meantime, take a look at all the weekend fun that provided respite from the stress:

Headed to the Blossom Time Festival with my mom

A family hike and picnic at Brandywine Falls
Watching our niece march in the parade
Sharing our bounce house with cousins
Soaking up the sunshine
