We've had A Day Out with Thomas marked on our calendar for months, but didn't want to buy tickets ahead of time in case the weather didn't cooperate. When I woke up this morning to a sunny forecast, I was excited to take Mia and Ava on an adventure. This is usually something we'd do as a family of five, but knew Mate would spend the whole time enjoying the event with the older girls, while I wrestled with their adventurous and uncooperative little sister. Reluctantly, we decided Eliana and Mate would sit this one out. We felt a little bad not going all together, but it turned out to be the right decision:

The best part about the train ride was when both girls snuggled up next to me and chatted quietly. I could have stayed there with them for hours. Thankfully, there was more fun to follow:

event is taking place next weekend, too. It's definitely worthwhile for Thomas the Train fans.
