Oh, Preschool

I started researching preschool options about a year ago.  Unfortunately, I still have no idea where we're going to send Mia and Ava.  This really shouldn't be that difficult of a decision; it's just preschool.  Each option seems to have the same amount of pros and cons, which is not helpful . . . not helpful at all.  The teacher in me wants them to go somewhere with a strong academic focus.  The mommy in me wants them to go somewhere that screams hugs, and love and fun.  Is there a good combination of both?  Sure, but that place comes with it's own set of issues.  I don't really want the girls to be gone more than two mornings a week. One of our options is a four morning program.  I'm not sure that will work for me or them or us.  Not to mention, the price difference between some of the schools is quite significant.  Should we let that influence our decision? I'm already dealing with the internal battle of baby #4 or no baby #4 and my brain is running out of space for lists of pros and cons.  No one warned me that decision making was going to be one of the most exhausting parts of parenting.  Parents-to-be: consider yourself warned.  At least we know exactly where these little ladies are going to kindergarten.

One thing is for sure, they won't be going to preschool in their jammies next year

  1. I think for the first year of preschool as 3 year olds, a 4 morning a week program might be a little too much. In terms of getting everyone ready to go that many days, it could be overwhelming. It also limits the days available to you to do those spontaneous activities or play dates with friends. And why can't we go to preschool in our jammies???
