Our third annual day of hall decking took place yesterday and was the best one, yet!

We decided to start the Elf on a Shelf tradition this year. Our elf was wrapped and waiting outside for the girls.

We really wanted to let the girls name the Elf all on their own. After more than a few minutes of asking them what her name should be, it was clear they needed some help.
We put a bunch of their letters in a bin and had them randomly pick a few out. Here is what we got:
Mate saw this and read, "Phoebe". I thought that was a great name for our elf and quickly jotted it down in our book.
Next, we decorated the house and put up the tree.

After the decorating was done, we bundled up and headed outside.

Our day ended with homemade hot chocolate and a holiday movie.

Once the girls were tucked into bed, Mate found a new place for Phoebe the Elf.
 |
| It took them a bit to find her this morning, but there was quite a bit of excitement when they did |
