After an eventful weekend, I was looking forward to an ordinary Monday. Well, somewhat ordinary, since Mate would be coming home late and missing our first preschool story time at the library. I expected that three against one was going to be some work, but having to leave in the middle of the program because my girls wouldn't behave wasn't what I had envisioned. To make a long story short, Ava cried most of the time and Mia thought the room was her personal playground. It's sort of difficult to hold a baby, comfort a crier and corral a wild child all at the same time. I'm not one to make excuses for my children, but it didn't help that the librarian was somewhat ineffective in her attempts to keep the kids engaged. Regardless, another child opened the classroom door and out went my girls. Despite my efforts, they ran off in two different directions. The all too familiar thought,
don't lose a child, don't lose a child, don't lose a child ran through my mind as I hurried to catch up to each of them. Once all the Soric ladies were back together, we headed straight to the car. It takes a whole lot of effort to get anywhere with three kids under three and to be buckling everyone back in after 15 minutes was really frustrating. I can assure you there were no kid songs playing during our drive home, so take that toddlers!
Mate arrived home shortly after us and could tell by the look on my face that something had gone terribly wrong. As much as I am sure he would have loved to scoop his little ladies up and shower them with love, he put on his angry face. After a stern talking to and some time sitting at the table instead of playing, we were hopeful they got the message. Unfortunately for Mate, that left him with about 39 seconds to snuggle with the baby before she needed to be fed and put to bed. As he reluctantly handed her over to me, I was reminded that I may experience the brunt of the child-rearing stress, but I wouldn't trade places with him even if I had the chance.

| These two were just lovely at "school" this morning and reaffirmed themselves as my favorite students, ever |
