Recently, I was added to a few facebook groups comprised of local moms selling all things baby and kids. Besides finding a few deals that I couldn't pass up, I've enjoyed being witness to a community of moms interacting with each other in such a positive way. I wasn't planning on posting anything to sell, but have found myself looking through closets and storage when someone is in search of something specific. When a request was made on behalf of a struggling mom in need of a suit for her son, I knew Mate had something we could donate. Hanging in our closet was the suit that Mate wore to our first formal dance together 12 years ago. While it held sentimental value to us, we were happy to pass it on to someone else.
Yesterday, a mom posted a request for preemie size clothing. I am yet to give away/sell, any of the girls' clothing for various reasons. First, we need to be sure there are no more children in our future . Second, I plan to use many of the items to create a quilt one day. Third, I'm not sure I'm ready to part with this stuff, yet. Anyway, I decided to look through our box of preemie clothing since the chances of us needing any of it again are slim. As I pulled items out, it was shocking to be reminded of how small our little ladies were. Ultimately, I decided to hold on to two sleepers and let everything else go. I placed each gently worn outfit in a bag which now waits on our front porch for another family to pick up. Bittersweet.
