Eliana has some tightening on the left side of her body, so our pediatrician suggested scheduling a physical therapy appointment for her. While we're not overly concerned, I figured it's worth going to at least one appointment to learn a few exercises to do at home. On Wednesday, we loaded everyone in the car and headed back to our favorite hospital for the appointment. We were warned that the physical therapist is a little crazy, but great at her job. I think that is a pretty accurate description. While evaluating our littlest lady, she kept us entertained with some interesting renditions of popular songs. She mentioned Mate, Eliana, and I were quick learners, but to be honest, it was a bit difficult to follow everything she was saying. One minute she'd be singing "shake it up baby now" (while twisting our child quite vigorously) and the next she'd be relaying important information. There was never a dull moment, that's for sure.
By the end of the appointment, she saw a considerable amount of improvement on Eliana's left side and is confident with us working at home and a few more sessions, she should be good to go. Although we LOVE Rainbow Babies and Children's Hospital, getting there is less than convenient. I think we're going to look for a physical therapist a little closer to home (we may not have such an entertaining experience, though).

We'll do ANYTHING for our girls, but I really wasn't looking to add more appointments to our calendar. I never thought our parenting journey would include neonatologists, urologists, cardiologists, neurologists, intervention specialists or physical therapists, yet I find myself being very thankful for issues that are fixable.
