NKOTBSB

After 7 months, I finally left the girls to do something fun.  Mate bought me tickets to the New Kids on The Block-Backstreet Boys concert when the girls were born.  I've been looking forward to going ever since.  Luckily, one of my best friends wanted to go, too.  I know better than to drag my musically talented husband to a boy band concert.  Despite getting a little choked up when I kissed the girls goodbye, I really was excited for the evening.  Rachael and I had dinner on East 4th where we reminisced about the NKOTB bedsheets and t-shirts we had as kids.  I also had a neon green raincoat that I remember wearing in 1st grade and a Joey McIntyre doll that I got from my Godparents.  Since all of those things are long gone, we both wanted to buy new t-shirts.  We quickly changed our minds when we saw that they were $40.  I guess I didn't want one that badly.  We had good seats and a great view.  Neither of us are very tall, so this was a relief.
Not sure what I was doing, but thought this had to be included
Anyway, the venue was filled with an interesting mix of people.  I especially enjoyed watching the few men that were in the audience.  Some could have passed for legitimate fans, while others had no intention of enjoying themselves.  We danced, sang along, and concluded that Nick Carter must have ADHD.  The show went longer than I had expected and the mommy-in-me began to overpower the twenty-something concert goer.  As soon as the encore ended, Rachael and I hustled out of the arena.  I was proud of myself for being the first person to reach the valet attendant.  Little did I know that I'd be stuck in traffic for an hour.  Mate and I agreed that I should park close, even if it was a little expensive, for safety and a quick departure.  Epic Fail!!!
Rachael parked farther away and had no trouble at all.  After an hour and a half, I made it home.  Mate and the girls were fast asleep.  I am thankful that he is such a capable dad.  It makes leaving a lot easier.  I was pleasantly surprised to find everything I usually do before going to bed already done.  He even had my pump assembled (future post will explain) and water bottle filled.  I laid down a little after 1 a.m. and was woken by the girls at 4:45.  Mate brought them into our room where we took turns falling in and out of sleep for the next hour.  I'm looking forward to a nap.
