Fashion Forward

This morning, Mia was insistent on getting dressed right away.  I found her standing on a stack of books, desperately reaching for her desired article of clothing.  After retrieving the bird dress, she requested a pair of zebra pants. As I apprehensively pulled said pants from the drawer, I asked if she was sure that's what she wanted to wear.  Her response: Yes, it'll be great!!!  There was so much confidence and excitement in her voice.  I wasn't about to rain on that parade, so she'll be headed to school in a bird dress, zebra pants and kitty shoes.  We can only hope she'll always have confidence to wear whatever makes her happy . . .
