A few months ago, I heard about Caring Cubs, a non-profit that sets up volunteer opportunities for families with young children. We are intent on raising kids who understand the world outside of suburbia. Volunteering will help foster that understanding, so I was thankful to find Caring Cubs. On Saturday, our family headed to a local nursing home that cares for people with Dementia or Alzheimers. For about an hour, we created Valentine's Day cards and chatted with residents. Although our girls are too young to understand why we were there, it was a great place to start.
