Mate's Birthday

Yesterday was Mate's 27th birthday.  We started the day off by letting him sleep in.  He picked a good day for a birthday because Mia was wide awake at 4:54 a.m.  I'm not complaining because she and I got to snuggle in the guest room while everyone else slept.  After all the members of our family were awake, we headed off to breakfast.  The girls must have really liked the diner (and their pancakes) because they were very well behaved.  Following our morning out, the girls took a 3-hour nap.  That never happens.  Mate was gifted 3-hours of uninterrupted relaxation...those girls must really love their daddy!  In the evening, we picked up some Mexican food (in honor of Cinco de Mayo), opened presents and had cake.  Mia, Ava, and I did our best to make the day special:
