An heirloom and art

My great grandma, on my dad's side, graduated from high school in 1928.  Upon her graduation, a few boys in the class gifted her a rolling pin.  Apparently, the boys thought of it as a gag gift, but she loved the kitchen tool.  My grandma has cherished this rolling pin for years and decided to pass it on to me.  I was really excited to receive this heirloom.  Along with the rolling pin, came the recipe for my grandma's homemade noodles.  I'm looking forward to embracing my Iowa country girl roots.

We did our Spring art project even though there was snow on the ground this morning:

Mia's turn

We also had the girls feed themselves with utensils for the first time:
Mia didn't seem to mind the yogurt in her eye

  1. Thanks for sharing,Tina. I hadn't ever heard the story about your great grandma and the rolling pin. So glad your grandma decided it was time to share it with you - and the noodles.... well, if you get them mastered, you're a better woman than me! Your grandma makes the best noodles I've ever had and I remember asking her to make them when we have visited, because they are soooooo good.
