Twins Club

Last night I attended my first Mother of Twins Club meeting.  I have known about this local club since the girls were born, but never made the time to go.  At the Twins Days Festival, I was given a flier for the club's annual kick-off meeting and decided it looked like something I'd like to do.  It's always a little uncomfortable to go somewhere where you don't know anyone, but I was fine.  As soon as I walked in, someone noticed me from my doctor's office.  This was her first time at a meeting, too.  We chatted for a while before being put into groups based on the age of our twins.  Each group talked amongst themselves and then asked the moms with twins in the next age group questions.  I really didn't have anything to ask, but it was interesting to listen to what others are going through.  I enjoyed learning about all the outings, activities, and philanthropic events that take place.  I volunteered for a few committees and signed-up to bring a sweet treat to the next meeting.  Here are a few things that take place each year:

Family Fall Fest
Operation Shoebox
Mom's Night Out
Playgroups
Holiday Party
Couple's Night Out
Spring Fling
Twins Days Button Booth

One thing I wasn't expecting was how late the meeting went.  It began at 7:30 and I was one of the first to leave at 10.  A lot of the other moms were sticking around to prolong their night out.  Overall, I think it is going to be a really great group to be a part of.  I'm looking forward to the next meeting and upcoming events.
