The Last Day

While today marked the last day of 1st Grade for Mia and Ava, it was also an important milestone for me.  Today was the last day I'll have with just one kiddo at home.  Knowing that this day was quickly approaching, I've made sure to appreciate what was left of my time as a preschool parent.  We don't get sad around here for the time that passes, but rather appreciate all that we were able to do within it:
Library story time

coffee dates
company while running errands
seeing that little face in the rearview mirror
I am thankful for our shared love of the mall
and for all the outings we attended with SECPTA.
I am thankful for the days I asked her what she wanted to do and her answer was "bake a cake"
We may not be able to fill our days with trips to hear the orchestra
or play dates at the park, but I will always have these precious memories.
I'll remember her incessant requests for chicken noodle soup at Panera
and morning bike rides after her sisters caught the bus.

It's been an amazing ride.
