Life's too short . . . eat the cupcake!

The last couples' outing of the year for our early childhood PTA happened to fall on Mate's birthday, which made for quite the celebration.

Oh, remember my motto about life being too short for ugly cake?  Well, these Cinco de Mayo inspired cupcakes had a rough go of it on the bus, but they were still delicious.  My mother-in-law's birthday is next on the calendar, so I'm aiming for a pretty cake that is also delicious (third time's the charm, right?)

Thankfully, this guy doesn't mind mangled birthday cupcakes.

And here's proof that my inability to consume more than one alcoholic beverage in an evening doesn't stop me from having a good time . . . especially when Whitney Houston's I Wanna Dance with Somebody comes on.

 

 A big thank you to my mom for hanging with the girls all evening so we could make some pretty great memories.
