Hilton Head 2018

For 10 months, I managed to stick to my decision that we would take a little break from vacationing on Hilton Head Island.  I stayed strong when the girls recalled favorite memories and talked as if we'd be reliving them this summer. I suppressed my urges to book a trip month, after month.  Then, the reality set in that we definitely wouldn't be able to visit in 2019 due to other plans and I lost all self-control.  I called my mom, who shares my love for this place, checked Mate's work shcedule and this is the result:

We soaked up the sun
Enjoyed all that Sea Pines has to offer: glitter tattoos, feeding horses, trolley rides and their favorite playground in the whole world.
Mate took the girls on a pirate adventure
We rode bikes in tandem all over the island

We saw our favorite performer multiple times.  One night, they were taking pictures for the cover of an island magazine, so we'll be keeping an eye out to see if the girls are in the July edition.  Eliana and Mia sang, Ava cheered them on and I knew we made the right decision to make more memories in this place.
Of course, The French Bakery was on our list of must-dos

We won spots into the crab races by playing "name that tune" and came out with a 2nd and 3rd place finish in the final round.  Such excitement for these ladies!
We went to Duck Donuts . . . twice.
There were mornings and evenings at the beach and splashing in the fountains.

Just before leaving for the trip, Ava was gifted with an expander and doctor's orders to eat lots of ice cream.  I'm happy to report ice cream consumption happened every single day.  Good thing we rode bikes all over the place!

There was relaxing, participating in magic shows, sand art, putt-putt in the rain and visits to the Frosty Frog.
We made the most of every minute of our trip and wore these little ladies out!

I'm so thankful for this place that feels like our home away from home.
