May they always know that we'll be waiting for them at the bottom of any mountain they choose to climb.

Met My Match
While eating dinner last night, one of our lovely little ladies declared that a boy gave her a compliment during class. She went on to share that he thinks she's smart and he is, in fact, her boyfriend. Mate and I smiled at each other and asked if this particular classmate was a boy that is a friend or a boyfriend. With a smile that was trying to be contained, she stated that he was her boyfriend and she had met her match. How adorable is that?!?!? Our conversation continued as she told us her plans to let him know he's her crush. We told her how excited we were that she has a friend that she gets along with so well. We were also sure to let her know that he might giggle or react in a silly way when she shares her feelings and that it's okay if he does not feel the same way. This child, who sometimes lacks confidence and often expresses embarrassment, has no idea how happy she made us last night. At the end of dinner, Mate and I thanked her for sharing her feelings and made sure she knew how much we appreciated her openness. Our goal has always been to make sure the girls know that we are their
safe place- that they can share anything with us. We left that dinner table so thankful that this little lady entrusted us with these feelings.
