These girls loved nightly sleepovers and were sad to see them come to an end as we prepared to return to the school-year routine. Thankfully, there was still some fun to be had.
Mia and Ava chose to see the Emoji Movie during their last week at home
We got in a few more bike rides
Had a picnic
Celebrated a successful summer with ice cream
and waterfall watching.
I loved all the time I got to spend with these ladies during their break, but the time had come to prepare for school.
There were haircuts and new clothes thanks to my mother-in-law
and lunch and laughter to round out our perfect ladies' day.
Back at home, we had a living room pizza party and introduced the girls to Free Willy. We started this little tradition of showing them a movie from our childhood before the beginning of each new school year and it quickly became one of our favorites.
With her siblings back in school, Eliana was in charge of our activities. Those included feeding ducks . . .
playing dress-up
harvesting vegetables to donate
and going to see the movie Leap dressed in a tutu and legwarmers.
Eventually, we made it to Labor Day Weekend which we kicked off at the Geauga County Fair.
We spent Saturday afternoon invading my grandmother-in-law's garden.
Mate loves seeing the girls enjoy this place as much as he did.
To them, their great-grandparent's apple tree is the most amazing place in the world.
A trip to check out the newest exhibit at the Museum of Natural History, a really fun graduation party and one last swim at the pool rounded out our weekend.
Summer 2017 gave us an opportunity to create some amazing memories, but I'm always ready for Fall.
