We can go out to dinner and have a conversation with the girls instead of moving everything out of their reach or pulling out a million different activities to keep them busy or needing to cross all our fingers and toes that the food will arrive before anyone loses their mind.
Plus, they try to use chopsticks, which is adorable and quite entertaining.
They can go in a chilly, hotel swimming pool without us . . . I can't even begin to tell you how happy it makes me to watch from the comfort of the pool deck.
They're old enough to sip on hot chocolate that hasn't been cooled down by 482 ice cubes.
While the appropriateness of their choices may be questionable, they can pick out and apply their own waffle toppings.
They navigate play areas without much help from us.
We can see movies that interest the entire family . . . we still cannot pose for a picture, though.
The sweetness of little ones sleeping on our chests has been replaced by the joy that comes from watching our girls interact with the world. For anyone mourning the end of the baby/toddler days: don't worry. . . there is so much goodness yet to come.
