Mia and Ava had their first picture day about a month ago. They don't exactly cooperate when it comes to smiling on cue, so I had my fingers crossed the photographer was a miracle worker. I also had my fingers crossed that the girls would make the forty minute drive from home to school without ruining their outfits or hair. Speaking of outfits, I was pretty sure all the other girls in the class would be wearing dresses for picture day. I was right. They were all adorably adorned in sparkles, ruffles, tights and fancy shoes. Not our girls. Years from now, I hope I can look back at this picture and be reminded of what they were like at 3 years old. I hope to remember that Mia and Ava insisted on being called Mia Cat and Ava Dog (hence the cat and dog sweaters). I hope I remember how inseparable they were. Most importantly, I hope I will have remembered to always celebrate their authentic selves.
