A few times each month, Eliana decides to grace us with her presence around 3:30 a.m. I'm always hopeful that she will magically fall back asleep, but that never seems to happen. She and I usually trudge downstairs around 4:00 a.m. to grab some milk and coffee before making our way to the couch. Eliana happily catches up on episodes of Daniel Tiger while I count the minutes of sleep I'm losing. This morning was not any different than the other times she has protested a reasonable rising time - except for one moment. A random sneeze on my part prompted her to crawl over to me, get very close to my face and say, "bless you". Just like that, I had all the energy I needed to make it through the day.
