The next six months are going to fly by and drag on, simultaneously. They'll take forever because we won't be living in our own home, yet it will seem like I merely blink and Mia and Ava are four-years-old. Today marks their half birthday . . . halfway to four. That is worrisome and wonderful all at the same time. We were warned over and over and over again that three is worse than two. As I've mentioned, that hasn't been the case here. Sure, there are plenty of ways our older girls have challenged us in the last six months, but we're really enjoying this age. They are more independent, more opinionated, more loving and quite entertaining. Hopefully, those traits will serve them well with all the big changes about to come. I try not to worry about the ever-quickening rate at which these girls grow, but it sure is bittersweet. In honor of their half birthday, I'll focus on the sweet stuff we want to remember. Like the way Ava selflessly shares with her sisters or how Mia outstretches her arms for extra hugs before bed. Speaking of sweet stuff . . . perhaps we'll use their half birthday as an excuse to stop for doughnuts during our morning errands. Happy Half Birthday to our favorite set of twins.
