One Month Down

Yesterday, Eliana had her one month check-up and received a glowing report.  She's weighing in at 9 pounds 6 ounces, which is giant by our standards.  Mia and Ava were almost 5 months old before they weighed that much.  We also had a follow-up ultrasound to check on Eliana's kidney that resulted in some good news.  She still has excess fluid, but it's so minimal that a more invasive test is not needed.  We'll visit the Urologist again in August to have another look.  This first month has been filled with lots of doctor's appointments and these memories we don't want to forget:

1. Eliana refuses to sleep in the bassinet.  I spent the first few weeks of her life holding her all night long (per our doctor's recommendation).  We finally decided to buy a co-sleeper so she could safely snooze in our bed.  She spends about half the night there and half the night in my arms (which I kind of love).

2. Mia and Ava still get their own names confused, but always accurately identify Eliana, who they call Elie.

3. Mia and Ava "interact" with Eliana a little more each day.  I love catching them pushing her swing, covering her with a blanket, or trying to put the pacifier in her mouth. We can do without the few times she's almost been sat on, though.

4.  Our little lady loves the bath and our big girls love helping.  Ava is desperate to scrub off a birthmark on Eliana's leg, which is pretty adorable to watch.

5.  The everyday snuggles.
