We had a memorable first Christmas with Mia and Ava. They did relatively well at my mom's on Christmas Eve. We arrived early to exchange gifts with my immediate family. The girls were spoiled with toys, pajamas, books, and clothes. Later in the evening, the house was filled with about 50 people, so the girls became a bit clingy. By about 7:30, Mate and I were ready to put them to bed. That didn't go very well and they rejoined the party. Mia eventually fell asleep while snuggling with Grandpa Steve and Nancy. Ava wasn't slowing down, so we decided to head home. By 9:30, the girls were in bed and presents were under the tree.

We were up bright and early on Christmas morning. Mia, Ava, Mate and I spent about an hour opening gifts and playing with new toys. After breakfast and a little more playtime, the girls went down for their morning nap. Mate and I got to work preparing for his family to arrive. I had done quite a bit the day before to ensure a stress-free Christmas. As soon as our guests arrived, we sat down to eat. The girls took their afternoon nap shortly after dinner, which gave us a chance to enjoy coffee, dessert and family. When Mia and Ava woke up, they were met with a room full of presents from their Baba and Dida. You can tell these are the first grandchildren on Mate's side of the family. We had a wonderful time sharing the holiday with people we love. I don't think the day could have gone any better.
