Gingerbread Houses

Every year around Christmas, Grandpa Steve and Nancy take all the grandchildren on a trip.   This year, they decided to stay home and have a Gingerbread House decorating party, instead.  The girls had the best time covering themselves in frosting.  Of course, every piece of candy meant for decorating went into their mouths.  After a few hectic minutes of repeatedly taking gumdrops and peppermints away, we figured out twizzlers were safe.  It was tons of fun until Mia's frosting covered finger looked yummy to a dog.  Mate reacted quickly, but we had one very unhappy child and I was definitely a little frantic.  Thankfully, the dog didn't break her skin and the teethmarks eventually went away.  I don't have anything against animal lovers, I'm just not one of them.  We've already figured the kids will really dislike us when they ask for a pet and we say no. Luckily, we are in total agreement on this one, so they won't be able to use us against each other.  Anyway, back to the gingerbread fun:
