That Time I Had a Personal Chef

Sometimes when I'm meal planning or grocery shopping or cleaning up the kitchen after dinner, I daydream about what it would be like if someone else took care of all of that for me.  Sometimes dreams come true (even if just for a little while).  You see, my neighbor happens to be a chef and happens to be adding Personal Chef Services to her company, Infuse.  Earlier this month, she reached out to see if we could help her test out this new venture . . . yes, yes, absolutely, YES!
First, Chef Cat came over to discuss our family's likes, dislikes, dietary restrictions, etc. I was able to share with her that we try to eat meatless at least once a week, we limit our red-meat consumption, cooking fish intimidates me, Mate doesn't like beans and the girls eat what we eat.  She jotted down notes, took a look around my kitchen and presented me with a beautiful sample menu.
A few days later, I was emailed this document with a description of the three meals Chef Cat would be preparing for us, the cost of the food and reheating instructions. It was clear that she took everything we had discussed  into consideration when developing a menu just for us.
On the set date and time, she arrived with all the groceries and set up shop in my kitchen.  One of the perks of this service is that she shops at some of the best markets around and has access to suppliers the home-cook does not.  Maybe the best part of this whole experience, though, was that we got to hang out all afternoon (I totally took advantage of her knowledge base and asked a bunch of questions).
After a few hours, my kitchen island was home to these beautiful dishes.

Everything was covered and labeled to ensure safety and make reheating simple.
Each night, all I had to do was pull items out of the refrigerator, follow the instructions and set the table.  Meal #1 was DELICIOUS and made us excited for subsequent meals. I had a new favorite every time we tried something.
As you can see, the girls enjoyed this experience, too.

Chef Cat's years of experience, undeniable talent and passion for preparing healthy, wholesome meals were evident throughout this entire process. We sure are thankful to have had her cook for our family and can't wait to invite her into our home, again (hint, hint, Mate).

***I was not asked to blog about this experience***
***We covered the cost of the food, while the service was complimentary***
