1. After posing quite nicely with the First Day of Kindergarten sign, we headed to the car for drop-off. In case you missed it on facebook, Ava would like to be a firefighter when she grows up. Although, her first answer was nothing because she's going to stay at home with us forever. I felt like she was selling herself a bit short and reminded her she could have a job while living at home (we can't support you forever, kid). Mia, in true Mia fashion, announced she'd like to be an otter when she grows up. Why dash anyone's hopes and dreams on the first day of school, right?
2. We arrived with a few minutes to spare, so Mate got a chance to pose with his girls. The nervous anticipation of all the waiting families was palpable.
3. Mia quietly introduced herself to the teacher, put her belongings away, and joined some classmates on the carpet.
4. Ava completed the same process and that was that. As we exited the building, staff members waved pom-poms and cheered us on our way. Mate and I walked hand-in-hand back to the car (we may or may not have tried to peak in the classroom windows).
5. Back at home, Eliana woke up from her nap and immediately asked if her sisters were home. Unfortunately, she had about 45 minutes left to wait. Her disappointment was nothing compared to her excitement when their bus pulled up to our driveway.
The girls said they had a great day and that was about all we could get out of them. Don't they understand that we need details??? A play-by-play would surely be appreciated. Something? Anything? Denied.
