Night #1 consisted of dinner at Panera, a trip to our local toy store and ice cream
I loved watching these little ladies happily share with each other.
We woke up bright and early on day #2 to get some grocery shopping done. They managed to convince me that they really needed donuts.
I'll be the first to admit that we use Mate's travel as an excuse to indulge in some extra fun.
We headed to the pool after our errands and finished up the day with some board games.
These three are not above trying to cheat, by the way.
On day #3, we headed up to Mentor to spend some time with my family. A pit stop at Chuck E. Cheese seemed quite necessary. Mia and Ava both hit the jackpot on this game, which was met with much excitement.
After swimming in the rain for a bit at my mom's house, these girls enjoyed popcorn and a movie with their cousin.
On day #4, we headed just south to Hudson for a morning of books, haircuts and fancy popcorn.
Haircut #2 for Mia, who insisted she was really going to miss those split ends we chopped off.
Ava was far less sentimental about the whole thing, thankfully.
Lollipops and prizes seemed to help Mia forget about the hair she left behind.
There were sleepovers every night and plenty of snuggles.
Day #5 happened to be our anniversary. Mate and I couldn't be together, but the girls and I sure had a great day. We enjoyed perfect weather for meeting friends at the playground and some gift giving.
Totally normal for the kids to get presents on their parents' anniversary, right?
Meet our otters. They are obsessed with these cuddly creatures, so we splurged a bit on otter jackets and slippers.
We made good use of their new gear by wearing it to see Finding Dory. You better believe they loved the otter cameos in the movie.
I let them pick a location of their choice for dinner. Cracker Barrel may not have been on the top of my list for anniversary dinners, but we had a good time.
On Day #6, my mom and niece joined us at the pool. The girls loved spending time with family and all the snacks Grandma bought them at the concession stand.
Love these girls and the special moments we share while Mate is away.
