Meet a Supermom

Everyday, the mommy blogger world spits out all kinds of essays on the difficulties of motherhood.  They get all kinds of likes and reshares and that's great- when you spend the majority of your days mothering, it's comforting to know that others are experiencing similar joys and struggles.  This post isn't about that, though.  This post is about a mother who has to navigate so much more than most of us do and she's rocking it.
I met Amber at my first Mothers of Twins Club meeting nearly 5 years ago and we've been friends ever since.  In that time, I've watched her become an amazing advocate for her son, Andrew and the Autism community. Their story isn't mine to share, but I wanted to introduce you all to someone I admire:

This is Amber with her husband, Gary.
This is an event she organized last weekend to raise money for the Autism Society of Greater Akron. The amount of vendors, donations, raffle baskets and shoppers she was able to pull together AMAZED me.

This is Amber, less than a week later, hosting a fundraiser at our local Chick-Fil-A.  The place was packed with people supporting her efforts. While these big events give us a glimpse into the work she is doing, nothing can compare to all the ways she advocates and supports her son on a daily basis.  This is a supermom and I am so grateful to call her my friend.
