Wedding Weekend

Our collective iPhone pictures don't really do the weekend justice, but I can assure you that we enjoyed every bit of my sister-in-law's wedding and the events surrounding the big day.  It was an honor to be amongst so many people celebrating this couple. Our family grew this weekend and we couldn't be happier with the newest members.
The festivities began Thursday night with a tent-raising party.  It took 7 Croatian men and little ol' me a couple of tries, but we managed to properly assemble the tent without directions.
We celebrated our success with dinner and 20 extended family members.
The rehearsal took place on Friday, followed by a lovely dinner hosted by Matt's parents.
I just LOVE the way Kristina was looking at her soon-to-be husband.

The morning of the wedding, we gathered at Mate's childhood home and turned the master bathroom into a beauty salon.  Massive amounts of hairspray, curls, bobby pins and girl talk were a great distraction.
Ava even got a chance to join in the fun.
Moments before the ceremony began, I took on the task of pinning on all the boutonnieres. I was feeling quite comfortable in my role until the best man's rose snapped off.  Uh-Oh!!!  Thankfully, Mate found an extra pin and all was well in the world.  We make a good team, if I do say so myself.

We don't have any pictures of the ceremony, but here is a little peak at the beautiful bride.  After a few hours of picture taking, we arrived at the reception and were reunited with our girls.
We're really hoping the photographer's capture of our little family turns out a bit better.

The mother-of-the bride enjoying months and months of planning and preparation.
A big thank-you to my family for caring for our girls throughout the big day.
On the fourth and final day of the wedding celebration, we gathered for a pig roast with close family and friends.  The weather was less than lovely, but nothing stops this group from having a good time.

We are extra thankful for all the love and attention our girls received throughout the weekend.
There is no better way to end the weekend than with the groom and his new father-in-law extending their hands to each other.

Happiness and exhaustion abound.
