What's Happening

I've gone back and forth about sharing what is happening in our family. This isn't just my story, so I want to be respectful of all those involved.  When we chose to live with one of my parents, we never imagined that parent would be diagnosed with cancer for the second time.  We never imagined being told there isn't a treatment plan to cure him.  We never imagined the battle ahead. This past week has been a blur, but one thing has remained clear: love.  It is what makes this so difficult and, yet, what gets us through. There isn't anything anyone can say or do to make this okay, but having family and every single one of my closest friends reach out to me sure does help. Every. Single. One . . . Love.

On a less serious note,  you know there is something going on in my life when I voluntarily take Mia, Ava and Eliana to a pet store.  Just thinking about the smell of those places is enough to make me gag, but there I was oohing and aahing alongside the girls.  We'll just blame that adventure on emotional exhaustion.  Good thing Mate comes home from a conference today or who knows where the girls and I might end up.

Time to figure out our new normal . . .
