Signs of Success

For months upon months, I've been trying to get Eliana to learn a few simple words in sign language.  Just as I was about to throw in the towel, her little hands began doing what I've been willing them to do.  It started with milk, followed by all done, more, and book.  I love, love, love watching her communicate in this way, but it has a downside.  Eliana signs more every single time she completes a ride on our little roller coaster.   In the last few days, I've given that kid ride after ride after ride and it's getting old.  She's also decided it's a great idea to sit up in her crib and sign all done each time I put her down for a nap.  I respond by saying "night-night" and help her lie back down only to have her pop back up and wave her hands with more vigor.  Nice try kiddo, but it doesn't work that way.
