Finishing a Basement

About 2 months ago (on a whim), I reached out to a childhood friend to see if he'd be interested in finishing our basement.  I wanted to tackle this project about 2 minutes after we moved into our house, but just thinking about the mess of construction, plus people in my space for a couple of months sounded like anything but fun. I knew the only way this was going to get done was if we knew the person doing the work.   Fast forward 7 weeks, 70 trips to Home Depot and 700 moments of laughter shared between us and we have a space that means more to me than I ever thought a basement would.  I could go on and on about how hard Samson worked, or how patient he was with me when trying to find just the right stain color for the barn doors, or how many extra hours he spent on this project because I kept coming up with new ideas, or how much our girls loved having him here everyday, but I think this sums it up best:

There's a lot of moving furniture and decorating to be done, but here's a little peek at our new space:

Thank you, Samson
